The District holds a deposit on every active account.  The deposit charge is not indicative of a residents' ability to pay their bills or their past history.  The deposit remains with the District and is returned with interest after 18 consecutive  months of prompt payment or when the property changes ownership.  In the event that the property is leased, the District holds, (for the term of the lease), a deposit on the tenant as well as the property owner. 

A deposit is required for domestic as well as irrigation meters.  The deposit fee is based upon the meter size and will appear on the first monthly billing.
